AUTHORIZING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE CITY OF ALBANY REGARDING THE CARES OF NY INC. HOUSING RESOURCES CONNECTION PROGRAM AND AMENDING THE 2024 DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, CONSERVATION AND PLANNING BUDGET

By Audit and Finance Committee:
WHEREAS, The County Executive has requested authorization to enter into a memorandum of understanding with the City of Albany regarding the CARES of NY Inc. Housing Resources Connection Program in the amount of $900,000 over a three-year term, and
WHEREAS, The County Executive has also requested a budget amendment in order to accept $900,000 in matching funds from the City of Albany, and
WHEREAS, The County Executive indicated that this funding will be used to connect homeless individuals with housing assistance as well as mental health and addiction services, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into a memorandum of understanding with the City of Albany regarding the CARES of NY Inc. Housing Resources Connection Program in the amount of $900,000 over a three-year term, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the 2024 Department of Economic Development, Conservation and Planning Budget is hereby amended as follows:
Increase Revenue Account A8020 0 2372 Housing Resource Connection Pg by $900,000
Increase Appropriation Account A8020.4 by $900,000 by increasing Line Item A8020 4 4976 Albany County Improvement Init by $900,000
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
