AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE OFFICE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES REGARDING THE MASS ALERT NOTIFICATION SYSTEM

                     By Public Safety Committee:

 

                     WHEREAS, The County Chief Information Officer has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with New York State Office of Information Technology Services (NYSITS) regarding the New York State Mass Alert Notification System (NY-Alert) for a term commencing January 1, 2020 at no cost to the County of Albany, and

                     WHEREAS, The NY-Alert system provides emergency communications over digital devices and landlines, is capable of real-time two-way secure communication with confirmation, can be expanded to include the general public, now, therefore be it

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with NYSITS regarding the NY-Alert system for a term commencing January 1, 2020 at no cost to the County of Albany, and, be it further

                     

                     RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of the resolution the appropriate County Officials.
