AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE GOVERNOR'S TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMITTEE REGARDING THE NEW YORK STATE HIGHWAY SAFETY PROGRAM

                     By Public Works Committee:

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Public Works has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee regarding the Highway Safety Grant Program in an amount of $105,000 for the term commencing October 1, 2025 and ending September 30, 2026, and

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that the funding will be used to purchase signs, partially fund the Traffic Safety Instructors salary and benefits, and fund the costs associated with attending traffic safety conferences, now, therefore, be it

 

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee regarding the Highway Safety Grant Program in an amount of $105,000 for the term commencing October 1, 2025 and ending September 30, 2026, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
