AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE OFFICE OF MENTAL HEALTH REGARDING THE COVID RELIEF COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH JAIL DIVERSION GRANT PROGRAM AND AMENDING THE 2022 DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH BUDGET

WHEREAS, The Director of the Department of Mental Health has indicated that the New York State Office of Mental Health has made grant funding available for the COVID Relief Community Mental Health Jail Diversion program in an amount not to exceed $174,080 for a term commencing January 10, 2022 and ending March 14, 2023, and
WHEREAS, The Director indicated that these funds will be used develop a robust jail re-entry case management model for individuals with serious mental illness and to undertake a sequential intercept model (SIM) mapping effort to update Albany County's SIM report, and
WHEREAS, The Director also requested a budget amendment to incorporate $160,737 of the aforementioned grant funding into the 2022 Department of Mental Health Budget with the remaining $13,343 to be incorporated into the 2023 Budget, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office of Mental Health regarding the COVID Relief Community Mental Health Jail Diversion grant program in an amount not to exceed $174,080 for a term commencing January 10, 2022 and ending March 14, 2023, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the 2022 Department of Mental Health Budget is amended as follows:
Increase Revenue Account A3490 Mental Health (State Aid) by $160,737
Increase Appropriation Account A4310.1 by $80,011 by increasing the following line items:
Increase Line Item A4310 1 4300 40 Staff Social Worker by $48,344 with an annual salary of $58,000
Increase Line Item A4310 1 4302 08 Peer Advocate by $31,667 with an annual salary of $38,000
