AUTHORIZING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CYBERSECURITY & INFRASTRUCTURE SECURITY AGENCY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY REGARDING VULNERABILITY SCANNING OF ALBANY COUNTY'S PUBLIC-FACING NETWORKS AND SYSTEMS

WHEREAS, The Chief Information Officer of the Division of Information Services has requested authorization to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) of the Department of Homeland Security to conduct continuous network and vulnerability scanning of Albany County’s Public-Facing Networks and Systems at no cost to the County, and

 

WHEREAS, The Chief Information Officer has indicated that CISA’s Vulnerability Scanning will include identifying all active internet-accessible assets including networks, systems and hosts to be scanned and initiate non-intrusive checks to identify potential vulnerabilities and configuration weaknesses, now, therefore, be it

 

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature, that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency of the Department of Homeland Security to conduct continuous network and vulnerability scanning of Albany County’s Public-Facing Networks and Systems at no cost to the County, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

                     

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of the resolution the appropriate County Officials.
