AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE DIVISION OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE SERVICES REGARDING THE STATEWIDE TARGETED REDUCTIONS IN INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE GRANT AND AMENDING THE 2025 PROBATION DEPARTMENT BUDGET

                     By Public Safety Committee:

 

                     WHEREAS, The Director of the Probation Department has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services regarding the Statewide Targeted Reductions in Intimate Partner Violence (STRIVE) Grant in the amount of $92,783 for a term commencing March 1, 2025 and ending March 31, 2026, and

 

                     WHEREAS, The Probation Department will partner with Equinox Domestic Violence Services, the Albany Police Department, and the Albany County District Attorney’s Office to change the way agencies respond to intimate partner violence, and

 

WHEREAS, The Director has also requested a budget amendment to incorporate the aforementioned funding, now, therefore, be it

 

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services regarding the STRIVE Grant in the amount of $92,783 for a term commencing March 1, 2025 and ending March 31, 2026, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the 2025 Probation Department Budget is hereby amended as follows:

 

 

and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
