AUTHORIZING AGREEMENTS WITH THE NEW YORK STATE OFFICE OF VICTIM SERVICES REGARDING THE VICTIM ASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM

WHEREAS, The Director of the Albany County Crime Victim and Sexual Violence Center has requested authorization to enter into a multi-year agreement with the New York State Office of Victim Services regarding the Victim Assistance Grant Program in a total amount of $2,489,678 over a three-year term commencing October 1, 2025 and ending September 30, 2028, and
WHEREAS, The Director has also requested authorization to enter into the first year of the three-year agreement in the amount of $829,893 for a term commencing October 1, 2025 and ending September 30, 2026, and
WHEREAS, The Director indicated that the funding will be used to support staff positions to provide direct services to crime victims as well as operational costs throughout the duration of the three-year term, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office of Victim Services regarding the Victim Assistance Grant Program in a total amount of $2,489,678 over a three-year term commencing October 1, 2025 and ending September 30, 2028, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Executive is further authorized to enter into the first year of the three-year agreement in the amount of $829,893 for a term commencing October 1, 2025 and ending September 30, 2026, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreements as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
