AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A NY PLAYS GRANT APPLICATION TO THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS, RECREATION, AND HISTORIC PRESERVATION REGARDING IMPROVEMENTS TO THE LAWSON LAKE PLAYGROUND FACILITY

By Public Works Committee:

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Management and Budget  has requested authorization to submit a NY PLAYS grant application to the New York State Department of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation to fund the design, equipment, construction, and associated capital costs related to the NY PLAYS initiative for a playground at Lawson Lake, and

 

WHEREAS, The grant request for $600,000 will require a match of 20% by the County, now, therefore be it,

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is hereby authorized to submit a NY PLAYS grant application in the amount of $600,000 to the New York State Department of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation for the design, equipment, construction, and associated capital cost related to the NY PLAYS initiative for a playground at Lawson Lake, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said grant application as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
