AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE OFFICE OF TEMPORARY AND DISABILITY ASSISTANCE REGARDING THE RENTAL SUPPLEMENT PROGRAM AND AMENDING THE 2025 DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES BUDGET

                     By Social Services Committee, Lane and Pedo:

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Social Services has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) regarding the Rental Supplement Program in an amount of $1,125,750 for a term commencing April 1, 2025 and ending March 31, 2026, and

 

                     WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that the grant funding will be used to provide ongoing rental supplements to eligible households which are homeless or facing an imminent loss of housing, and

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner has further indicated that a budget amendment is necessary to incorporate said funding into the 2025 Department of Social Services Budget, now, therefore, be it

 

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with OTDA regarding the Rental Supplement Program in the amount of $1,125,750 for a term commencing April 1, 2025 and ending March 31, 2026, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the 2025 Department of Social Services Budget is amended as follows:

 

and, be it further

                     RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
