AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE OFFICE FOR THE AGING REGARDING CORONAVIRUS AID, RELIEF, AND ECONOMIC SECURITY ACT FUNDING

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Albany County Department for Aging has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office for the Aging to accept Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding in the amount of $789,416 for the term commencing January 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2020, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has also requested a budget amendment in order to incorporate the CARES Act funding into the 2020 Department for Aging Budget, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that the funding will be used to provide additional funding toward contracted support services, nutritional meal services, and caregiver support services, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office for the Aging to accept CARES Act funding in the amount of $789,416 for the term commencing January 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2020, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the 2020 Department for Aging Budget is hereby amended as follows:
Increase Revenue Account A3324 STIM1COVID by $183,792
Increase Revenue Account A3339 STIM3COVID by $605,624
Increase Appropriation Account A6772.4 by $789,416 by increasing line item A6772 4 4046 Fees for Services by $789,416
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
