AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE DIVISION OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY SERVICES REGARDING THE 2022 STATE HOMELAND SECURITY PROGRAM AND AMENDING THE 2022 DIVISION OF INFORMATION SERVICES BUDGET

By Public Safety Committee:

WHEREAS, The Albany County Executive's Office on behalf of the Department of Health and the Division of Information Services has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services in order to accept FY2022 State Homeland Security Program funding in the amount of $515,472 for the term commencing September 1, 2022 and ending August 31, 2025, and

WHEREAS, The County Executive has indicated that, upon acceptance of the monies from New York State, the Albany County Department of Health will receive $339,450 in order to coordinate and sustain citizen preparedness, public health planning, and training/exercise programs, and

WHEREAS, The County Executive has further indicated that the Albany County Division of Information Services will receive $176,022 which will be utilized for enhancements to County cyber security, and,

WHEREAS, The County Executive has indicated that the Division of Information Services requires a budget amendment to incorporate said funding, now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services regarding FY2022 State Homeland Security Program funding in the amount of $515,472 for the term commencing September 1, 2022 and ending August 31, 2025, and, be it further

RESOLVED, That the 2022 Division of Information Services Budget is hereby amended as follows:

Increase Revenue Account A4306 Homeland Security by $176,022
