AMENDING THE 2023 ALBANY COUNTY BUDGET: NEW YORK STATE HEALTH CARE AND MENTAL HYGIENE WORKER BONUS PROGRAM - VESTING PERIOD IV

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 342 for 2022 was adopted by this Honorable Body to accept funding for the New York State Health Care and Mental Hygiene Worker Bonus Program, which allocated $1.2 billion in statewide funding for payment of bonuses for certain frontline healthcare workers, and

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 509 for 2022 was adopted by this Honorable Body to amend the 2022 Albany County Budget regarding the second vesting period (April 1, 2022 - September 30, 2022) for the program, indicating that 318 claims were filed on behalf of employees totaling $453,500 in bonus payments, and $34,698 in FICA contributions, for a total of up to $488,198, and

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 237 for 2023 was adopted by this Honorable Body to amend the 2023 Albany County Budget regarding the third vesting period (October 1, 2022 - March 31, 2023) for the program, indicating that 83 claims were filed on behalf of employees totaling $105,000 in bonus payments, and $8,041 in FICA contributions, for a total of up to $113,041, and

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Management and Budget has requested authorization to amend the 2023 Albany County Budget regarding the fourth vesting period (April 1, 2023 - September 30, 2023) for the New York State Health Care and Mental Hygiene Worker Bonus Program, and

WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that 87 claims have been filed on behalf of employees totaling $106,500 in bonus payments, and $8,156 in FICA contributions, for a total of up to $114,656, and

WHEREAS, Once New York State has reviewed submitted claims on behalf of County employees, the County will receive payment from New York State and pay the bonuses to qualifying employees within 30 days, now, therefore, be it
