AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT OF THE CORNELL COOPERATIVE EXTENSION ASSOCIATION OF ALBANY COUNTY FOR THE YEAR 2025

WHEREAS, The Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Albany County has been duly organized by and with the consent of Cornell University and is cooperating with the State College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, New York State College of Human Ecology, and New York State College of Veterinary Sciences regarding community resources development, home economics, and 4-H in this County, and has assumed local responsibility for educational programs relating to the betterment of individuals, families, and communities in Albany County, and
WHEREAS, The State Legislature has provided funds to be expended in Albany County in 2025, and Cornell University has set aside federal funds to be expended for each Cooperative Extension agent in the Agriculture, Home Economics, and Community Resources Development and 4-H Divisions, to assist in paying the salary of each of said agents in each county, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the sum of $1,296,768 be appropriated and paid in quarterly installments of $324,192 toward the maintenance of the Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Albany County for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2025 and ending December 31, 2025, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the aforementioned sum includes $246,552 for a lease related to the use of 20,546 square feet of office and meeting space at the William Rice Extension Center at 24 Martin Road in the Village of Voorheesville for a term commencing January 1, 2025 and ending December 31, 2025, and, be it further
