RESOLUTION NO. 301

 

AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH REGARDING THE INDOOR RADON GRANT PROGRAM

 

                     Introduced:  9/13/21

                     By Health Committee and Mr. Miller:

 

                     WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Albany County Department of Health has requested authorization to submit a grant application to the New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Environmental Radiation Protection regarding the Indoor Radon Grant Program for the term commencing February 1, 2022 and ending January 31, 2027 in an amount of up to $50,000, and

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner indicated this funding will continue to support educational programs and home visits to inspect and test radon levels and indoor air quality, now, therefore be it

 

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to submit a grant application to the New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Environmental Radiation Protection regarding the Indoor Radon Grant Program for the term commencing February 1, 2022 and ending January 31, 2027 in an amount of up to $50,000, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Albany County Attorney is authorized to approve said application as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
