AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE NEW YORK STATE DIVISION OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY SERVICES REGARDING THE 2022 STATEWIDE INTEROPERABLE COMMUNICATIONS GRANT - TARGETED PROGRAM

                     By Public Safety Committee: 

 

WHEREAS, The Albany County Sheriff has requested authorization for the submission of a grant application to the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services regarding the 2022 Statewide Interoperability Communications Grant - Targeted Program in an amount up to $6,000,000 for a four year term, and

 

WHEREAS, The Sheriff has indicated that no County match is required and that the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services funding, if awarded, will be used for the implementation of regional connectivity via radio system core, connecting Albany, Schenectady and Rensselaer Counties, now, therefore, be it

 

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to submit a grant application to the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services regarding the 2022 Statewide Interoperability Communications Grant - Targeted Program in an amount up to $6,000,000 for a four year term, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said grant application as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
