RESOLUTION NO. 594

 

AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CAPITAL AREA COUNCIL OF CHURCHES REGARDING EMERGENCY CODE BLUE SHELTER SERVICES

                     By Social Services Committee:

 

WHEREAS, Pursuant to the New York State Social Services Law, local social services districts are required to provide emergency and transitional shelter services to public assistance eligible homeless persons, and

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Social Services has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the Capital Area Council of Churches regarding emergency code blue shelter services in an amount not to exceed $154,755 for a term commencing November 1, 2024 and ending April 30, 2025, and

 

                     WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that the Capital Area Council of Churches will provide seasonal emergency code blue shelter services to men 18 years of age and older who are chronically homeless, suffering from mental illness or addiction, and have no other shelter options in the City of Albany, now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the Capital Area Council of Churches, Albany, NY 12207 regarding emergency code blue shelter services in an amount not to exceed $154,755 for a term commencing November 1, 2024 and ending April 30, 2025, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
