AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FUNDING AND AMENDING THE 2022 DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES BUDGET

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Social Services has been notified by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services that American Rescue Plan Act grant funding is available to enhance, improve, and expand adult protective services' ability to investigate allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation in the amount of $125,945 for a term commencing August 1, 2022 and ending September 30, 2024, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that the funding will be utilized to provide homecare services, printing and advertising materials to increase elder abuse awareness, overtime for workers to assist clients, and crisis intervention, de-escalation, mental health training, and the provision of mental health consultation and intervention services for protective clients in shelter or emergency situations, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has also requested a 2022 budget amendment in order to appropriate the aforementioned grant funding in the amount of $125,945, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the 2022 Department of Social Services Budget is amended as follows:
Increase Revenue Account A4610 Soc.Serv Administration by $113,945
Increase Revenue Account A4670 Purchase of Srvs for Recpnt $12,000
Increase Appropriation Account A6010.1 by $3,000 by increasing Line Item A6010 1 9900 Overtime by $3,000
Increase Appropriation Account A6010.4 by $110,945 by increasing the following line items:
Increase line item A6010 4 4039 Conferences Training Tuition by $9,945
Increase line item A6010 4 4046 Fees for Services by $101,000
Increase Appropriation Account A6070.4 by $12,000 by increasing Line Item A6070 4 4046 Fees for Services by $12,000
