AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH NEW YORK STATE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT REGARDING THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT RECORDS MANAGEMENT IMPROVEMENT FUND GRANT

WHEREAS, The County Clerk has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Education Department regarding the Local Government Records Management Improvement Fund Grant in the amount of $138,834 for a term commencing October 1, 2025 and ending December 31, 2026, and
WHEREAS, The Clerk has indicated that the funding will be used to assist with the digitization and indexing of the City of Albany and Town of Bethlehem records as part of the ongoing Albany County Shared Services Program, and that such funds will be incorporated into the 2026 Albany County Budget, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Education Department regarding the Local Government Records Management Improvement Fund Grant in an amount not to exceed $138,834 for a term commencing October 1, 2025 and ending December 31, 2026, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
