AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE NEW YORK STATE DIVISION OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY SERVICES REGARDING THE EXPLOSIVE DETECTION CANINE TEAM PROGRAM

 

                     Introduced:  5/9/22

                     By Public Safety Committee:

 

WHEREAS, The Albany County Sheriff has requested authorization to submit a grant application to the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services regarding the 2020 Explosive Detection Canine Team grant for an amount up to $50,000, and

 

                     WHEREAS, The Sheriff has indicated the grant will be allocated for the purchase of a canine-ready vehicle equipped with an environmental monitoring system, now, therefore, be it

 

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to submit a grant application to the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services regarding the 2020 Explosive Detection Canine Team grant for an amount up to $50,000, and, be it further                     

                     

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said application as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
