AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT REGARDING EXCESS WORKERS’ COMPENSATION INSURANCE COVERAGE AND AMENDING THE 2024 ALBANY COUNTY BUDGET

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Human Resources has requested authorization to enter into an agreement through Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc. regarding excess workers’ compensation insurance coverage with Safety National Casualty Corporation at a premium of $395,418 for the term commencing January 1, 2024 and ending December 31, 2024, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has also requested a budget amendment to appropriate funds to cover the increased premium rate, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement through Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc. with Safety National Casualty Corporation, St. Louis, MO 63146 regarding excess workers’ compensation insurance coverage at a premium not to exceed $395,418 for the term commencing January 1, 2024 and ending December 31, 2024, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the 2024 Albany County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
Decrease Appropriation Account CS9040.8 by $64,690 by decreasing Line Item CS9040 8 9040 Workers’ Compensation by $64,690
Increase Appropriation Account CS1722.4 by $64,690 by increasing Line Item CS1722 4 4999 Excess Insurance by $64,690
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
