REQUESTING THE NEW YORK STATE LEGISLATURE TO ENACT ASSEMBLY BILL 0789 / SENATE BILL 4542 TO ALLOW FOR A PERSON TO TAKE THE COMPETITIVE CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION

                     WHEREAS, Justin Finkle is currently ineligible to take the competitive civil service examination for the position of police officer with the Albany County Sheriff’s Office due to his age, and

 

                     WHEREAS, Currently, bills entitled “An act in relation to authorizing Justin Finkle to take the competitive civil service examination for the position of police officer and be placed on the eligible list for employment as a full-time police officer for the Albany County Sheriff’s Office, are before both houses of the New York State Legislature: in the Assembly Bill No. A0789, and in the Senate, Bill No. S4542, now, therefore, be it

 

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature, pursuant to Article IX of the New York State Constitution and Section 2 of the Municipal Home Rule Law, that the County Legislature hereby requests the enactment of legislation by the Legislature of the State of New York as contained in Assembly Bill A0789 and Senate Bill No. S4542, and be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials:  Senators Jacob Ashby and Patricia Fahy; and Members of the Assembly John T. McDonald, Phillip G. Steck, and Gabriella Romero.
