AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FUNDING AND AGREEMENTS REGARDING THE FAMILY FIRST MOBILE RESPONSE INITIATIVE AND AMENDING THE 2024 DEPARTMENT FOR CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES BUDGET

By Social Services Committee:

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department for Children, Youth and Families has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) to accept grant funding regarding the Family First Mobile Response Initiative in the amount of $200,000 for a term commencing April 1, 2024 and ending March 31, 2025, and

WHEREAS, The Commissioner has also requested authorization to enter into an agreement with Trinity Alliance of the Capital Region, Inc. regarding the operation of a mobile response van to be staffed with a licensed clinician, a behavioral health specialist, a family peer advocate, a service navigation specialist, or a domestic violence advocate as part of a mobile response team in an amount of $200,000 for a term commencing April 1, 2024 and ending March 31, 2025, and

WHEREAS, The Commissioner has also indicated that a budget amendment is necessary to incorporate said funding into the 2024 Department for Children, Youth and Families Budget, now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with OCFS in order to accept funding regarding the Family First Mobile Response Initiative in the amount of $200,000 for a term commencing April 1, 2024 and ending March 31, 2025, and, be it further

RESOLVED, That the County Executive is also authorized to enter into an agreement with Trinity Alliance of the Capital Region, Inc., Albany, NY 12202 regarding the operation of a mobile response van in the amount of $200,000 for a term commencing April 1, 2024 and ending March 31, 2025, and, be it further
