AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH M.A. SHAFER CONSTRUCTION, INC. REGARDING THE REPOSITIONING AND RENOVATION OF THE HELDERBERG-HUDSON RAIL TRAIL FREIGHT DEPOT BUILDING

 

                     Introduced: 6/8/26

By Public Works Committee:

 

                     WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of General Services has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with M.A. Shafer Construction, Inc. regarding the repositioning and renovation of the Helderberg-Hudson Rail Trail Freight Depot Building in an amount not to exceed $248,400 for a term commencing July 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2028, and

 

WHEREAS, The Department, through the Purchasing Agent, received two bids and MA Shafer Construction, Inc. was the lowest qualified bidder, now, therefore, be it

 

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with M.A. Shafer Construction, Inc., Altamont, NY 12009 regarding the repositioning and renovation of the Helderberg-Hudson Rail Trail Freight Depot Building in an amount not to exceed $248,400 for a term commencing July 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2028, and be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content prior to the execution thereof, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
