AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE DORMITORY AUTHORITY OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK REGARDING THE NEW YORK STATEWIDE INVESTMENT IN MORE SWIMMING GRANT

WHEREAS, The County Executive has requested authorization to submit a grant application to the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) regarding New York Statewide Investment in More Swimming (NY SWIMS) grant funding in an amount up to $1,500,000, and
WHEREAS, The County Executive has indicated that this grant, if awarded, would be used to reimburse the County up to 80% of the costs associated with the Cohoes Aquatic Center and related infrastructure improvements, and
WHEREAS, NY SWIMS grants are provided to promote swimming to underserved communities, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to submit a grant application to DASNY regarding NY SWIMS grant funding in an amount up to $1,500,000, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said grant application as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
