AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION AND AN AGREEMENT WITH THE RESEARCH FOUNDATION FOR MENTAL HYGIENE FOR GRANT FUNDING

                     By Public Safety Committee and Mr. Miller:

 

WHEREAS, The Albany County Sheriff has requested authorization to submit a grant application to and enter into an agreement with the Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene regarding grant funding in the amount of $40,000 for the term commencing April 4, 2022 and ending December 31, 2022, and

 

WHEREAS, The Sheriff has indicated that this funding will be utilized to offer education and support in the area of mental health well-being to uniformed officers as they cope with stressful situations on a daily basis, now, therefore, be it

 

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to submit a grant application to and enter into an agreement with the Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene regarding grant funding in the amount of $40,000 for the term commencing April 4, 2022 and ending December 31, 2022, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said grant application and agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
