AUTHORIZING THE CONVEYANCE OF A PARCEL OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 329 BROADWAY (TAX MAP NO. 44.58-2-29) IN THE CITY OF WATERVLIET

By Audit and Finance Committee:
WHEREAS, The County of Albany has acquired through “in rem” foreclosure title to a parcel of real property located at located at 329 Broadway (Tax Map No. 44.58-2-29) in the City of Watervliet, and
WHEREAS, The Advance Albany County Alliance has expressed an interest in acquiring the parcel for $1 to sell it to an experienced housing developer for economic development purposes, and
WHEREAS, By Resolution No. 141 for 2025, this Honorable Body adopted an Updated Disposition Plan for Real Property Acquired through the In Rem Delinquent Tax Foreclosure Process, and
WHEREAS, § 360-41(f) of the Updated Disposition Plan allows for properties to be sold to individuals or entities for economic development purposes, and shall comply with the conditions set forth in RPTL §§ 1196 and 1197(2)(a)-(b) to establish the full value of the parcel related to the conveyance, and to determine if any surplus exists, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to execute on behalf of the County any and all documents necessary to convey property located at 329 Broadway (Tax Map No. 44.58-2-29) in the City of Watervliet, to the Advance Albany County Alliance in the amount of $1 for the purpose of economic development, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Advance Albany County Alliance shall be responsible for all closing costs at the time of closing, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said conveyance as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
