AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 96 FOR 2021 REGARDING THE EMERGENCY RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

By Social Services Committee, Mss. Chapman, Messrs. Efekoro, Fein, Ms. McLaughlin, Messrs. Peter, Reinhardt, Ricard, Simpson, and Ms. Willingham:
WHEREAS, By Resolution No. 22 for 2021, this Honorable Body authorized an agreement with the United States Treasury to accept grant funding in the amount of $9,061,754 regarding rental and utility assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic for a term commencing January 1, 2021 and ending March 31, 2022, and
WHEREAS, By Resolution No. 85 for 2021, this Honorable Body authorized an agreement with United Tenants of Albany regarding administration services related to the United States Treasury grant for emergency rental assistance in an amount not to exceed $125,000, for a term commencing March 15, 2021 and ending March 31, 2022, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Social Services has requested authorization to amend the aforementioned agreement with United Tenants of Albany to indicate an ending date of September 30, 2022 rather than March 31, 2022, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that Resolution No. 96 for 2021, an agreement with United Tenants of Albany, is hereby amended to indicate an ending date of September 30, 2022 rather than March 31, 2022, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate Albany County Officials.
