AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE CAPITAL DISTRICT TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE REGARDING THE LINKAGE STUDY PROGRAM GRANT

WHEREAS, The County Executive has indicated that the Capital District Transportation Committee has made grant funding and technical assistance available regarding the implementation of a study to evaluate the feasibility of up to three extensions of the Albany County Helderberg Hudson Rail Trail into the Town of Guilderland, and
WHEREAS, The County Executive has requested retroactive authorization in order to approve the submission of an application to the Capital District Transportation Committee Linkage Study Program Grant for the evaluation of possible extensions of the Albany County Helderberg Hudson Rail Trail in the Town of Guilderland, and
WHEREAS, The County Executive has indicated that the aforementioned grant funding will be used in order to implement goals found within the Community and Transportation Linkage Planning Program, including creating a connected and integrated multimodal transportation network and developing bicycle and pedestrian friendly transportation options in Albany County, now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is retroactively authorized to submit a grant application to the Capital District Transportation Committee, Albany, NY 12205 regarding the evaluation of possible extensions to the Albany County Helderberg Hudson Rail Trail in the Town of Guilderland, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said grant application as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
