AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH PLANK CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR GENERAL CONSTRUCTION SERVICES REGARDING THE KNOX HIGHWAY GARAGE PROJECT

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Public Works has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with Plank Construction Services for general construction services regarding the Knox Highway Garage Project (Project) in an amount not to exceed $3,361,200 for a term commencing March 1, 2023 and ending July 31, 2024, and
WHEREAS, The Department of Public Works through the County Purchasing Agent issued a request for bids for General Construction Services regarding the Project and four bids were received, and
WHEREAS, The Department and Lamont Engineering reviewed said bids and have recommended awarding the contract to Plank Construction Services as the lowest responsible bidder, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that the Project includes removal and disposal of the existing highway garage and office buildings and construction of a new, right sized, energy efficient highway garage facility, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with Plank Construction Services, Albany, NY 12202, for general construction services regarding the Project in an amount not to exceed $3,361,200 for a term commencing March 1, 2023 and ending July 31, 2024, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
