AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE NEW YORK STATE OFFICE OF INDIGENT LEGAL SERVICES REGARDING THE SECOND UPSTATE MODEL FAMILY REPRESENTATION OFFICE GRANT

WHEREAS, The Albany County Executive has requested authorization to submit a grant application to the New York State Office of Indigent Legal Services regarding the Second Upstate Model Family Representation Office Grant in the amount of $870,139 per year for a total amount of $2,610,417 over a three-year term, and

 

WHEREAS, The County Executive has indicated that this funding will be used to establish a model Family Representation Office to provide legal representation and other wraparound legal and social services to parents in child protective proceedings and termination of parental rights proceedings pursuant to New York Family Court Act Article 10, now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to submit a grant application to the New York State Office of Indigent Legal Services regarding the Second Upstate Model Family Representation Office Grant in the amount of $870,139 per year for a total amount of $2,610,417 over a three-year term, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said application as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
