AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE CAPITAL REGION PARTNERSHIP FOR INVASIVE SPECIES MANAGEMENT REGARDING TREATMENT TO ERADICATE THE INVASIVE PLANT LESSER CELANDINE AT ANN LEE POND NATURE AND HISTORIC PRESERVE

WHEREAS, The Department of Economic Development, Conservation and Planning has requested authorization to submit a grant application to the Capital Region Partnership for Invasive Species Management (PRISM) regarding the treatment to eradicate the invasive plant Lesser Celandine at the Ann Lee Pond Nature and Historic Preserve in an amount up to $7,200, at no cost to the County, and
WHEREAS, The Senior Natural Resource Planner has indicated that the invasive plant Lesser Celandine is spreading quickly and threatening the native plant diversity and habitat at the preserve and due to the size of the infestation, the area must be treated with an herbicide, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to submit a grant application to PRISM regarding the treatment to eradicate the invasive plant Lesser Celandine at the Ann Lee Pond Nature and Historic Preserve in an amount up to $7,200, at no cost to the County, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said grant application as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
