RESOLUTION NO. 402

 

AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH APALACHEE, LLC REGARDING THE PURCHASE OF ROAD SALT FOR SNOW AND ICE REMOVAL ON COUNTY ROADS AND STATE HIGHWAYS

                     By Public Works Committee:

 

                     WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Public Works has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with Apalachee, LLC regarding the purchase of road salt for the removal of snow and ice on County roads and New York State Highways in an amount not to exceed $1,412,536 for a term commencing September 1, 2022 and ending August 31, 2023, and

 

                     WHEREAS, The Commissioner indicated that the Department of Public Works estimates it will purchase approximately 19,349 tons of road salt during the 2022-2023 Snow and Ice Season, and that the New York State Contract price is $73.00/ton, and

 

                     WHEREAS, The Commissioner and the Albany County Purchasing Agent have reviewed the New York State Office of General Services contract award notification and have indicated that Apalachee, LLC offers the best value for Albany County, now, therefore, be it

 

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with Apalachee, LLC, Rochester, NY 14620 regarding the purchase of road salt for the removal of snow and ice on County roads and New York State Highways in an amount not to exceed $1,412,536 for a term commencing September 1, 2022 and ending August 31, 2023, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
