AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE GOVERNOR'S TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMITTEE REGARDING THE HIGHWAY SAFETY GRANT PROGRAM

                     By Public Works Committee:

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Public Works has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee regarding the Highway Safety Grant Program in an amount of $99,500 for a term commencing October 1, 2024 and ending September 30, 2025, and

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that the funding will be used to provide child safety seat checks, purchase bicycle helmets, attend Traffic Safety conferences and support the salary of the County’s Traffic Safety Instructor, now, therefore, be it

 

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee regarding the Highway Safety Grant Program in an amount of $99,500 for a term commencing October 1, 2024 and ending September 30, 2025, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
