RESOLUTION NO. 425

 

AUTHORIZING AN INTERDEPARTMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE DEPARTMENT FOR CHILDREN, YOUTH, AND FAMILIES AND THE DEPARTMENT OF PROBATION

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department for Children, Youth, and Families has requested authorization to renew an agreement with the Probation Department regarding prevention, supervision, and treatment services for juveniles in an amount not to exceed $1,106,359 for a term commencing January 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2026, and

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that the funding will be used to offset the salary and fringe benefit costs of Probation Department employees as well as to support various programs including the Juvenile Community Accountability Board, PINS 18, Parent Project, Juvenile Release Under Supervision, and Raise the Age services, all aimed at preventing further involvement of youth in the juvenile justice system, now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to execute an interdepartmental agreement between the Department for

Children, Youth, and Families and the Probation Department regarding prevention, supervision, and treatment services for juveniles in an amount not to exceed $1,106,359 for a term commencing January 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2026, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward

certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
