AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH/HEALTH RESEARCH, INC. REGARDING COVID-19 GRANT FUNDING AND AMENDING THE 2021 DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH BUDGET

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Albany County Department of Health has indicated that the New York State Department of Health/Health Research, Inc. (NYSDOH/HRI) has made grant funding available in an amount not to exceed $6,611,672 to support safe, in-person instruction in kindergarten through grade 12 schools in Albany County to slow the spread of COVID-19 for a term commencing July 1, 2021 and ending July 31, 2022, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner further requested a budget amendment to the Department of Health 2021 budget to accept grant funding in the amount of $3,311,672 with the remaining amount to be placed in the 2022 budget, now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Department of Health/Health Research, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $6,611,672 to support safe, in-person instruction in kindergarten through grade 12 schools in Albany County to slow the spread of COVID-19 for a term commencing July 1, 2021 and ending July 31, 2022, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the 2021 Department of Health Budget is amended as follows:
Increase Revenue Account A3343 COVID19 Epidemiology by $3,311,672
Increase Appropriation Account A4010.1 by $66,578 by increasing the following line items:
Create and increase Line Item A4010 1 2147 001 School Specialist by $19,039 with an annual salary of $55,000
Create and increase Line Item A4010 1 2147 002 School Specialist by $19,039 with an annual salary of $55,000
Create and increase Line Item A4010 1 2148 001 Grants Administrator by $28,500 with an annual salary of $78,000
