AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT REGARDING THE CHILDREN AND YOUTH WITH SPECIAL HEALTH CARE NEEDS PROGRAM AND AMENDING THE 2026 DEPARTMENT FOR CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES BUDGET

By Social Services Committee:

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department for Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Department of Health regarding the Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs Program (CYSHCN) in the amount of $85,760 for a term commencing October 1, 2025, and ending September 30, 2026, and

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that the additional CYSHCN funding is intended to be used only for the purpose of Community Accessibility and Inclusion activities, and

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner has also requested a budget amendment to incorporate the aforementioned funding into the 2026 DCYF Budget, now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Department of Health regarding the CYSHCN in the amount of $85,760 for a term commencing October 1, 2025, and ending September 30, 2026, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the 2026 Department for Children, Youth and Families Budget is amended as follows:

 

 

and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
