AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION REGARDING THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT RECORDS MANAGEMENT IMPROVEMENT FUND SHARED SERVICES GRANT AND AMENDING THE 2024 HALL OF RECORDS BUDGET

By Audit and Finance Committee:

 

WHEREAS, The County Clerk has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Education Department regarding the Local Government Records Management Improvement Fund Shared Services Grant in the amount of $149,293 for a term commencing July 1, 2023 and ending June 30, 2024, and

 

WHEREAS, The Clerk has indicated that the funding will be used to assist with the digitization and indexing of the Albany County Penitentiary Records, as well as the vital records, payroll records, and Town Board meeting minutes for the Village of Menands, and that such funds will be incorporated into the 2024 Albany County Budget, now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Education Department regarding the Local Government Records Management Improvement Fund Shared Services Grant in an amount not to exceed $149,293 for a term commencing July 1, 2023 and ending June 30, 2024, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the 2024 Hall of Records Budget is hereby amended as follows:

 

 

and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
