RESOLUTION NO. 417

                     

AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE HUMANITIES REGARDING ENERGY EFFICIENCY IMPROVEMENTS AT THE SHAKER HERITAGE SITE

 

                     Introduced:  10/10/23

                     By Conservation, Sustainability, and Green Initiatives Committee:

 

                     WHEREAS, By Resolution No. 68 for 2023, this Honorable Body authorized the Shaker Heritage Society to submit a grant application to the National Endowment for the Humanities regarding the Sustaining Cultural Heritage Collections Grant in the amount of $100,000 for a term commencing October 1, 2023 and ending September 30, 2025, and

 

                     WHEREAS, The Executive Director has indicated that the grant funding will be applied towards the cost of adding an energy recovery ventilator unit to the HVAC system in the 1848 Meeting House, and adding blown-in cellulose insulation between the Meeting Hall and the second floor attic space, and

 

                     WHEREAS, The Executive Director has received notification from the National Endowment for the Humanities that funding for this project has been approved for an amount not to exceed $98,273, now, therefore, be it

 

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the Shaker Heritage Society is authorized to accept funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities regarding the Sustaining Cultural Heritage Collections Grant in an  amount not to exceed $98,273 for a term commencing October 1, 2023 and ending September 30, 2025, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
