RESOLUTION NO. 596

 

AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH HOMELESS AND TRAVELERS AID SOCIETY REGARDING HOMELESS HOUSING EMERGENCY SERVICES

                     By Social Services Committee:

 

                     WHEREAS, By Resolution No. 204 for 2021, this Honorable Body authorized  an agreement with Homeless and Travelers Aid Society (HATAS) regarding the provision of after-hours homeless housing emergency services in an amount not to exceed $134,955 for a term commencing October 1, 2021 and ending September 30, 2022, with three one-year options to renew, and

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Social Services has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with HATAS, the third and final option to renew, regarding the provision of after-hours homeless housing emergency services in an amount not to exceed $200,000 for a term commencing October 1, 2024 and ending September 30, 2025, and

 

                     WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that HATAS will serve individuals and families during non-business hours who present as homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness by accessing emergency shelter or diverting them from homelessness by retaining or securing adequate housing, now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with HATAS, Albany, NY 12206 regarding the provision of after-hours homeless housing emergency services in an amount not to exceed $200,000 for a term commencing October 1, 2024 and ending September 30, 2025, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
