RESOLUTION NO. 200

 

AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE TOWN OF NEW SCOTLAND REGARDING A PEDESTRIAN CONNECTION BETWEEN THE JOSEPH HILTON PARK TRAILS AND THE ALBANY COUNTY RAIL TRAIL

                     By Public Works Committee, Messrs. Peter and Reinhardt:

 

                     WHEREAS, The County Executive has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the Town of New Scotland regarding a pedestrian connection between the Joseph Hilton Park Trails and the Albany County Rail Trail, and

 

                     WHEREAS, The proposed connection will create an integrated network that leads to more opportunities for recreation and exercise, increased property values, and quality of life, while allowing members of the public who bike and hike safe access to the Rail Trail, now, therefore, be it

 

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the Town of New Scotland regarding a pedestrian connection between the Joseph Hilton Park Trails and the Albany County Rail Trail, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
