APPOINTMENT OF A DIRECTOR TO FILL A VACANCY ON THE ALBANY COUNTY BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS

WHEREAS, According to the By-Laws of the Albany County Business Development Corporation, three Directors shall be appointed by the County Legislature, of which two Directors shall serve a term of three years, one each selected by the Majority and Minority Conferences of the Legislature, and one Director shall serve a two year term, appointed by the Legislature as a whole, and
WHEREAS, According to the same By-Laws, vacancies are to be filled by the same appointing authority as that of the departing Director, and any Director chosen to fill such vacancy shall serve the remaining term duration of the departing member; and
WHEREAS, The resignation of Pamela Smith Lansing from the Business Development Corporation has caused a vacancy to be filled by the Minority Leader, and
WHEREAS, The Minority Leader has recommended the appointment of Daniel Scaring, who has a background in the fields of development and hospitality, as a Director of the Albany County Business Development Corporation to fill the vacant position, now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the following named individual be appointed to the Albany County Business Development Corporation:

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
