AUTHORIZING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH NEW YORK STATE REGARDING AN ATTACK SURFACE MANAGEMENT SOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Chief Information Officer has requested authorization to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with New York State to provide Albany County with an Attack Surface Management Solution for cybersecurity monitoring at no cost for a term commencing January 1, 2025 and ending December 31, 2028, with an automatic 12-month extension upon approval of State funding, and
WHEREAS, New York State has partnered with Palo Alto to provide the County with Cortex Xpanse which is an active Attack Surface Management Solution that will help the County discover, analyze, and respond to unknown risks in all connected systems and internet-exposed services, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to execute an intergovernmental agreement with New York State to provide Albany County with an Attack Surface Management Solution for cybersecurity monitoring at no cost for a term commencing January 1, 2025 and ending December 31, 2028, with an automatic 12-month extension upon approval of State funding, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
