RESOLUTION NO. 240

 

AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH CORNELL COOPERATIVE EXTENSION FOR LEAD ABATEMENT TRAINING

By R. Joyce, Beston, Lockart, and Miller:

 

WHEREAS, By Resolution No. 193 for 2024, this Honorable Body authorized an agreement with the New York State Department of Health Bureau of Community Environmental Health and Food Protection to accept Lead Rental Registry Program funding in the amount of $848,000 per year for a total amount of $4,240,000 for a five-year term commencing April 1, 2024 and ending March 31, 2029, and

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Health has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with Cornell Cooperative Extension regarding Lead Abatement Worker and Lead Abatement Supervisor training in an amount not to exceed $39,200 for Abatement Worker courses and $48,000 for Abatement Supervisor courses for a term commencing December 1, 2025 and ending March 31, 2029, and

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that the training courses will be funded using the aforementioned Lead Rental Registry Program funding, now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with Cornell Cooperative Extension, Voorheesville, NY 12186 regarding Lead Abatement Worker and Lead Abatement Supervisor training in an amount not to exceed $39,200 for Abatement Worker courses and $48,000 for Abatement Supervisor courses for a term commencing December 1, 2025 and ending March 31, 2029, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
