AUTHORIZING THE COMMISSIONER OF THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES TO INCREASE PUBLIC ASSISTANCE BURIAL ALLOWANCES

WHEREAS, The County Executive has requested authorization to increase indigent burial service rates to make the County’s rates comparable to the rates of surrounding counties, now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the Commissioner of the Department of Social Services is hereby authorized and directed to increase the public assistance burial allowance for funerals of adults and children to the following amounts:

 

Effective 6/1/25                                          Effective 6/1/26                                          Effective 6/1/27

$2,250                                                               $2,375                                                               $2,500

 

and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
