AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE ADVANCE ALBANY COUNTY ALLIANCE LOCAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION REGARDING THE ADMINISTRATION OF SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGY AND GREEN ENERGY ACT GRANT FUNDING

By Audit and Finance Committee and Miller:

 

WHEREAS, By Local Law No. 1 for 2022, this Honorable Body created the Sustainable Technology and Green Energy Act (STAGE Act) in order to diversify and support green business industry in Albany County, and

 

WHEREAS, By Resolution No. 172 for 2023, this Honorable Body adopted Rules and Regulations for the administration of the STAGE Act Program, and

 

WHEREAS, Funding in the amount of $4,000,000 was set aside in the 2023 Albany County Budget for grant opportunities under the STAGE Act, to be administered by the Advance Albany County Alliance, and

 

WHEREAS, The Director of the Department of Economic Development, Conservation and Planning has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the Advance Albany County Alliance regarding the distribution of STAGE Act grant funding to qualified applicants in the amount of $4,000,000, now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the Advance Albany County Alliance Local Development Corporation, Albany, New York 12210, regarding the distribution of STAGE Act grant funding to qualified applicants in the amount of $4,000,000, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
