AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO AND AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE DIVISION OF HOMELAND SECURITY REGARDING REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC AND AMENDING THE 2024 SHERIFF'S OFFICE BUDGET

WHEREAS, The Albany County Sheriff has requested authorization to submit a grant application to and enter into an agreement with the New York State Division of Homeland Security regarding reimbursement from FEMA for COVID-19 under Federal Disaster Declaration #4480DR in an amount not to exceed $14,298 for the term commencing January 20, 2020 and ending December 31, 2023, and
WHEREAS, The Sheriff has indicated that the claim is for reimbursement of administrative management expenses incurred by the Sheriff's Office for the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, and
WHEREAS, The Sheriff has indicated that the funding will be used to purchase equipment to enhance the capabilities of the Emergency Management Unit, and
WHEREAS, The Sheriff has also requested a budget amendment to the 2024 Sheriff's Office Budget to incorporate the aforementioned funding, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to submit a grant application to and enter into an agreement with the New York State Division of Homeland Security regarding reimbursement from FEMA for COVID-19 under Federal Disaster Declaration #4480DR in an amount not to exceed $14,298 for the term commencing January 20, 2020 and ending December 31, 2023, and, be it further
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the 2024 Sheriff's Office Budget is hereby amended as follows:
Increase Revenue Account A3110 0 4341 FEMA Covid19 Reimbursement by $14,298
Increase Appropriation Account A3110.2 by $14,298 by increasing Line Item A3110 2 2800 Specialty Equipment by $14,298
