AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE OFFICE FOR THE AGING REGARDING THE MEDICARE IMPROVEMENT FOR PATIENTS AND PROVIDERS ACT GRANT

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department for Aging has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office for the Aging regarding Medicare Improvement for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) grant funding in the amount of $26,004 for the term commencing September 1, 2023 and ending August 31, 2024, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner indicated that this grant funding will be used to enhance and expand outreach to Medicare beneficiaries who are eligible for the Low Income Subsidy and/or the Medicare Savings Program and promote Medicare wellness and prevention benefits through collaboration with the Health Insurance Information, Counseling, and Assistance Program and NY Connects, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office for the Aging regarding MIPPA grant funding in the amount of $26,004 for the term commencing September 1, 2023 and ending August 31, 2024, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
