AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE OFFICE OF INDIGENT LEGAL SERVICES REGARDING THE DISTRIBUTION #8 GRANT

WHEREAS, The Public Defender has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office of Indigent Legal Services regarding the Distribution #8 grant in the amount of $1,573,455 for the term commencing January 1, 2018 and ending December 31, 2023, and                     

 

WHEREAS, The Public Defender has indicated that the funding is used to support salary and fringe for three attorneys representing indigent clients in court proceedings, salary for the Assigned Counsel Program Administrator, floor renovation, office supplies, and legal reference materials, now, therefore, be it 

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office of Indigent Legal Services regarding the Distribution #8 grant in the amount of $1,573,455 for the term commencing January 1, 2018 and ending December 31, 2023, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
