AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE DIVISION OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY SERVICES REGARDING THE 2021 STATE HOMELAND SECURITY PROGRAM

                     By Public Safety Committee:

 

WHEREAS, The Albany County Executive’s Office on behalf of the Department of Health and the Division of Information Services has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services in order to accept FY2021 State Homeland Security Program funding in the amount of $565,212 for the term commencing September 1, 2021 and ending August 31, 2024, and

 

WHEREAS, The County Executive has indicated that, upon acceptance of the monies from New York State, the Albany County Department of Health will receive $381,212 in order to coordinate and sustain citizen preparedness, public health planning, replenishing PPE stockpile, and training/exercise programs, and

 

WHEREAS, The County Executive has further indicated that the Albany County Division of Information Services will receive $184,000 which will be utilized for enhancements to County cyber security, now, therefore be it 

 

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services regarding FY2021 State Homeland Security Program funding in the amount of $565,212 for the term commencing September 1, 2021 and ending August 31, 2024, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
