AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH CORNELL COOPERATIVE EXTENSION TO PROVIDE TRAINING COURSES FOR LEAD BASED PAINT REMEDIATION

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Health has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with Cornell Cooperative Extension to utilize grant funding through the Lead Poisoning Prevention Program to provide Renovation, Repair and Painting training courses in an amount not to exceed $225,000 for the term commencing October 1, 2021 and ending September 30, 2026, and
WHEREAS, Cornell Cooperative Extension is certified by the Environmental Protection Agency to provide Renovation, Repair and Painting training courses and EPA Lead Risk Assessor/Inspector training courses, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with Cornell Cooperative Extension to provide Renovation, Repair and Painting training courses for individuals who need to be certified to perform lead based paint remediation in an amount not to exceed $225,000 for the term commencing October 1, 2021 and ending September 30, 2026, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
